Herbed Mushroom Stuffing
- 1 pound mushrooms
- 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 package herb seasoned bread crumbs - (16 oz)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 egg lightly beaten
Rinse, pat dry and slice mushrooms (makes about 5 cups).
In a skillet heat butter. Add mushrooms, celery and onions and saute until golden. Toss mushroom mixture with breadcrumbs. Stir in broth and egg. Spoon into prepared 10 to 12 pound turkey. Roast as desired.
This recipe yields about 2 1/2 quarts.
