Ingredients

  • 12 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons bacon bits-optional
  • 12 ounces Jalapeno peppers, seeded and cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

Step 1

Mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese and bacon bits together, combining thoroughly.
Spoon this mixture in to the peppers.

Place milk and flour in two separate bowls.
Dip the stuffed Jalapenos in to the milk, then the flour making sure to thoroughly coat each one.
Allow the jalapenos to dry for about 10 minutes.
Dip the dried jalapenos back in the milk, then coat with the bread crumbs.
Let them dry and again dip in the milk and coat with the bread crumbs to insure that the entire surface is well coated.

In a medium skillet heat oil to 365 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Deep fry the jalapenos for 2 - 3 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from pan and let drain on a paper towel.
