Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups sifted cake flour
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour to creamed mixture, alternately with whipping cream, beginning and ending with flour. Mix just until blended after each addition. Stir in flavorings.
Pour batter in two greased and floured 9" x 5" x 3" loaf pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans 10-15 minutes. Remove from pans, cool in wire rack. Cake can be placed in greased and floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 30 minutes. Cool as directed above.
