Manicotta Shells

By

This recipe is to make the SHELLS, for manicotta. No longer will you have to buy manicotta shells at the market.

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • Makes 18 shells

Preparation

Step 1

Use a 6 inch skillet for your manicotta shells.

in a medium bowl, Beat the eggs. Make sure that you do Not make them foamy. Don't beat them too hard.

Add pinch of salt, cup of lukewarm water and 1 cup flour. Mix together until just combined.

Spray your pan and cook over medium heat. (Practice makes perfect. it will probably take a couple of tries to get these just right)

Pour just enough batter to cover the bottom of the skillet. You don't want the shell to be too thick. This is going to cook fast. Since there is egg, the batter will solidify relatively quickly. Flip the shell once it has begun to solidify. Finish the shell for a few more seconds. Set aside and repeat until all shells are made. Should make about 18 shells
