Crescent Christmas Cookies

Another family recipes from my aunt.

These are so good they literally melt in your mouth.

No eggs are used in this cookie.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco or margarine)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour and salt in a bowl, put aside.

Cream shortening, butter and confectioners sugar together. Add nuts, almond extract and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until smooth.

With about a teaspoon of dough shape into a small ball or shape into a cresent. Baked on ungreased cookie sheets for 10-15 minutes, til very lightly browned.

When cooled dust with confectioners sugar.
