Sweet and Savory Biscuits

Recipe calls for blackstrap molasses but can be substituted with regular molasses or honey. Any plat based oil will work if you don't have safflower oil.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour, plus extra for rolling
- 1 cup barley flour
- 1/2 cup wheat bran
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tblsp blackstrap molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tblsp safflower oil
- 3 (2.5oz) jars of meat only baby food
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat the oven to 325.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flours, bran and salt. In a food processor, combine the molasses, egg, yogurt, oil, and baby food. Puree it into a liquid and add to the dry mixture. Stir with a spoon, then knead with your hands to incorporate all the flour. rutn out on to a floured surface. Sprinkle more flour on top of the dough and roll to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into desired shape with cookie cutters. Place biscuits on a baking sheet covered with greased or non stick foil. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned. Stor in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
