  • 1 1/4 ounces dried shiitake mushrooms rehydrate as directed
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/3 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with
  • 1/3 cup water

Step 1

Combine all ingredients except cornstarch in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer for 1/2 hour. The liquid should be cooked down to 2 cups. Thicken with cornstarch mixture. Serve and enjoy.
