Ruth's Chris Steak House Glazed Ham Steaks

By

"This was the way my Grandma Ruth would make ham steaks for a nice lunch. They go well with potato salad and corn on the cob (I think they go well with any sides!)."

Ingredients

  • 2 large ham steaks ( about 1/2 inch thick each)
  • 1 cup apple jelly
  • 2/3 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Trim the fat around the edges of the ham steaks. Melt the apple jelly in a large skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes. Add mustard and pepper; mix in well.

Place ham steaks into skillet and spoon sauce over them to cover. Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes per side, basting often. Turn out ham to a serving platter. Cut into serving size pieces as desired.

This was perfect for a quick week-night meal. My whole family enjoyed it and I will definitely use this glaze on ham steaks again.

This made us a nice meal. I did half the recipe for just the two of us. Next time I think I would like to brown the ham steak first and then maybe add about 1 teaspoon of brown sugar to the glaze. Thanks for a nice dinner.

Very good glaze for ham. I used the pre-packaged ham slices. I love to serve them as a quick dinner and will be making this again.

Made this for DH and myself for dinner. Only cooked 1 ham steak, so I cut the sauce mix in half. The only change I made was to brown the ham steak first in the skillet, then made the sauce & returned the ham to the pan. Served it with baked sweet potatoes with cinnamon butter and sweet peas. Yummy, great comfort food.

Made it to accompany apple pancakes for supper. We all enjoyed it. Thanks.

So easy to make and tastes wonderful! We enjoyed the bit of sweet and tart flavors with the ham. I bought a package of four medium sized ham steaks and there was enough sauce to cover all four nicely. Served with Kree's Dilly Potato Salad and enjoyed!

Absolutly AWESOME!!! I love ham and this was a great way to fix them. We had a very flavorful breakfast. Thank you
