Ingredients
- 1 medium size head casserole
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 cups evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp. chili sauce
Preparation
Step 1
Cut cabbage into small wedges; cook in boiling salted water until tender. Drain.
Place wedges in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Set aside.
Melt butter in a small saucepan; stir in flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in milk; cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour sauce over cabbage wedges. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Combine remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spoon over cabbage. Return to oven, and bake 20 minutes.
Yield: about 8 servings.
