Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1/2 box devil's food cake mix (1 3/4 cups)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs

- Filling:
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 7-ounce jar marshmallow creme
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ...................................
- Ganache:
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Spray bottom and sides of two 8-inch round cake pans with baking spray with flour. In large bowl beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs on low speed until moistened then for 2 minutes on medium speed scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pans and bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes, remove and let cool.
In large bowl beat filling ingredients with mixer on high speed until light and fluffy. Place one layer rounded side down on serving plate. Spread filling over cake spreading slightly over edge. Top with second layer.
In 1 quart saucepan heat whipping cream to medium boiling point (be careful as it can boil over very easy). Pour chocolate pieces in and stir gently in one direction then let set for 60 seconds. Stir again using whisk always in the same direction. Cool ganache in fridge for 15 minutes then stir again in same direction and refrigerate for another 15 minutes until thickened yet pourable. Pour over cake beginning in the middle and let drip over edges.
