Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 1/4 c. icing sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. finely chopped almonds
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add the remaining ingredients except the cherries, mixing well with your hands.
Flatten a small bit of dough, about a tsp. for each cookie with the palm of your hand. Place the cherry on the circle of dough, cover the cherry up by pinching the dough up and around the cherry and roll between hands to smooth.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 325 F for 35 minutes.
While still hot, roll in fine granulated sugar.
