Greek Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs, beaten, room temperature

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2. combine walnuts, sugar and cinnamon and set aside
mix sour cream and baking soda, set aside
combine flour and baking powder, set aside.

3. Cream butter, 1 cup sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and cream well.

4. Add flour/baking powder mix and mix well. Fold in sour cream/baking soda mix. Spread in a buttered pan.

5. Using a fork, put walnut/sugar/cinnamon mix over the batter. Slightly mix and bake until toothpick comes out clean.
