Brine for Pickling Fish

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar (more or less depending on taste)
  • 1/4 tsp. mustard seed
  • 12 peppercorns
  • Onions

Preparation

Step 1

Bring all of the above to boil - let cool

Place fish, onions (sliced fine) and bay leaf in layers in jar

Pour brine in jar to cover fish

Seal jar

Let stand in fridge for a few days
