  • 2 C brown sugar
  • 1/4 C butter or margarine
  • 1 C milk
  • few drops of vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Grease a baking pan 6 by 6
Heat butter, sugar and milk in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil stirring all the time. Boil for about 30 min.
Drip a little fudge into a bowl of cold water. It will form a soft ball when it's done. Keep boiling and testing till it does this.
Take saucepan of the heat, add vanilla and beat the mixture until thick and creamy. Pour into the pan.
Leave to set then cut into squares.
You can make other sorts of fudge by adding cocoa, nuts or raisins.
