Ingredients

    teaspoons dry yeast

  • 1/4

    cup warm water

  • 1

    large egg

  • 3/4

    cup chicken broth

  • 1/4

    cup honey

  • 3

    cups whole wheat flour

  • 1

    cup cracked wheat

  • Cookie cutter shaped like a dog bone, sold at most pet stores

  • Cookie sheet

Directions

Directions Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a big bowl, place dry yeast and warm water. Wait for the yeast to dissolve and the mixture to begin foaming. Next add the egg, chicken broth, and honey to the mixture and stir until well blended. Slowly stir in whole wheat flower and cracked wheat. Add all of the wheat and enough of the flour to make a ball that is stiff. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead until it is smooth. Roll the dough out to be about 1/4-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out bone shapes. Places the bones on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake the bones for approximately 45 minutes.
