Ingredients
- 2 cups (4 sticks) butter, softened
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 15- x 10- x 1-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Cut the butter into 1/2-inch slices. Combine the flour, sugar and butter in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer set on low speed until a soft dough forms, about 2 minutes.
Stir the chocolate chips into the dough. Press the dough into the prepared pan.
Prick the dough generously with a fork. Bake until just beginning to brown, 30–35 minutes. Transfer the pan to a wire rack. Cut the shortbread into 11/4- x 2-inch bars while still warm. Let cool completely in the pan before serving.
