Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cup margarine, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cups walnuts, optional
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350. Cream margarine with sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir flour with baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats. Fold in chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 – 9 minutes for a chewy cookie, 10 – 11 minutes for a crisp cookie, remove to wire cooking racks. Store in tightly covered container. About 6 dozen 2” cookies.
