Ingredients

  • 1 #10 Can Bush's Original Baked Beans **
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Original Sausage
  • 1 cup brisket/pork shoulder trimmings
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 2 T Cider Vinegar
  • 2 T Yellow Mustard
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Tom’s Rib Rub
  • 1/4 Cup Molasses

Preparation

Step 1

Cut the bacon into 1" pieces and brown. Set aside on paper towels to drain. (save the grease in the pan when you're done)

Brown the sausage, breaking into small pieces as it cooks. Set aside when done.

Add a little bacon grease back into your frying pan and saute the onions until translucent.

Mix all the ingredients together. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. I use the throw-away aluminum rectangular pans from Sam's, although you can get similar pans at the local grocery. A large lasagne pan will work also.

Obviously you can also cook this in your pit for that authentic BBQ flavor.

I like to mix the ingredients together the night before I'm going to cook and keep in the fridge so all the ingredients can "get to know each other".
