Ingredients
- 3 1/2 lb Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 8 slices
- 3 1/2 lb Pink Lady apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 8 slices
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 pints blackberries
- 1 package Ad Hoc cobbler mix
Preparation
Step 1
1. In large bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, cornstarch, lemon zest and lemon juice. Transfer to large casserole. Cover; set over medium heat.
2. Cook apples, stirring occasionally, until almost tender, about 45 minutes. Fold in blackberries.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare cobbler mix according to package instructions.
4. Drop mounds of dougn (2-3 tbsp each) over filling, leaving some space in between.
5. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar (incl with mix) on top.
6. Mound left-over dough on parchment lined baking sheet.
7. Bake 12-14 minutes; serve with cobbler.
8l Bake cobbler, uncovered, until topping is golden brown, about 35 minutes. Cool at least 15 minutes before serving.
