Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups of Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 3 1/2 Teaspoons Double Acting Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/3 C (5 Tablespoons) Unsalted Butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup Milk OR 1 cup Buttermilk plus 1/4 cup Milk
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients. Add butter in chunks and cut in with a pastry knife until the consistency is of coarse meal. Add milk and gently mix with spatula until dough just clings together. Turn onto floured surface and roll over to coat dough with flour. Knead until dough is mixed and slightly elastic, about 10 times.
Roll out to desired thickness, and ½ inch. Cut with a biscuit cutter and bake 15-20 minutes in an ungreased pan.
