Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 piece of onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoon flour
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
In a small saucepan bring milk, onion and bay leaf to a simmer. Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes. Melt the butter without letting it turn brown. Sprinkle the flour on the butter and cook, stirring constantly, on low heat for a few minutes. Remove onion and bay leaf. Pour in the milk as combine to stir. Cook until sauce has boiled for a few minutes and has thickened. Season to taste.
