ALMOND PATTIES

You can always these patties as a deliciously different hamburger. Try them with a slice of melted Swiss cheese.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 4 oz. almonds, finely chopped
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup black olives, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 sprigs parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 to 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine meat, almonds, garlic, olives, onion, egg, parsley, salt and pepper.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Form mixture into 4 oval patties, approximately 1-inch thick.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add patties when pan is hot. Brown patties on one side. Turn patties after 2 to 3 minutes. Brown on other side.
Remove patties; keep warm. Clean pan.
Add butter to pan. Heat. Add mushrooms. Turn the heat down. Saute mushrooms over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Add patties. Heat mushrooms and patties until they are cooked to your liking.
Put steaks on a serving platter. Spoon mushroom mixture over. Serve.
