Butter-Boiled Beefsteak

  • 1 pound beefsteak fungus
  • 6 shallots
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Thyme to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
  • Butter as needed

Step 1

Clean and cut the beefsteak fungus into fine slices and place in a frying pan with finely chopped shallots and garlic. Barely cover with water and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add pepper, salt, thyme and a generous knob of butter and cook until the liquid has reduced to a thick sauce.
