Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. flank steak
- 1 t. salt
- 1 T. black pepper
- 1 T. olive oil
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Rub steak on both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Warm oil in a large oven proof skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak to skillet and cook until browned on 1 side, about 1 minute. Carefully flip steak with tongs and cook until browned on other side, about 1 minute longer.
3. Transfer skillet to oven and cook steak to desired doneness-6-9 minutes for medium-rare. Transfer steak to a cutting board, tent with foil to keep warm and let stand for 5 minutes to rest. Use a sharp knife to slice thinly; serve immediately.
