Juicy Grilled Burgers
By Addie
Tomato juice gives these burgers more moisture, and they taste great!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck or ground round
- 3 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
- 2 tablespoons tomato juice
- Seasoned salt and pepper
- ................................
- Cheese slices
- Crisp bacon slices
- Sliced tomatoes, optional
- Sliced pickles, optional
- Sliced onion, optional
- Lettuce, optional
- Condiments, as desired
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare a grill for high heat.
Combine the beef with bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, grated onion, garlic powder, and tomato juice. Shape the meat into 4 to 5 large patties. Sprinkle both sides of burgers lightly with seasoned salt and pepper.
Put burgers on a lightly oiled grill over the prepared coals and grill for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until done as desired. Serve on split toasted buns with your choice of sliced vegetables and condiments.

Perfect flavor & juiciness! This is an awesome burger. My teenage son & I have made it a tradition to taste test burgers all over town, plus I've tried several recipes, so we like to think of ourselves as burger connoisseurs. As far as burgers go, once you start adding all sorts of ingredients, then you lose the hearty beef flavor, plus it can get so labor intensive that you might as well have made a three-course meal. This recipe, however, is very simple, and adds just enough that it enhances but doesn't cover up the flavor of the meat. I used a good quality angus beef, and I didn't want to buy a can of tomato juice just to use 2 tablespoons of it, so I just squeezed it out of a fresh tomato. Maybe the reviewer who didn't like the bread crumbs in it didn't use the fine dry crumbs, because it wasn't an issue at all. I'm not going to try any more burger recipes because I know I will always use this one.
These burgers are thick. If there is anything to watch out for, it is putting too much tomato juice with the meat. You also need to be careful in handling the meat until its cooked. Once the liquid has cooked off, you have a great tasting burger. Enjoy!
Best Burger Recipe! I was craving a yummy, juicy burger and this recipe satisfied me immensely. I used tomato sauce instead of tomato juice but it worked just as well. I've tried many recipes, including the Food Network Challenge winning recipes and none of them turned out as well as these! I will definitely use this recipe again.
I was not happy with these burgers and I served them today for mothers day, what a dissapointment. First of all I should of known better than to put bread crumbs in a hamburger. These are not kid friendly burgers. My family said I didn't have to make those again."
It's in the book! We just happened to get a huge can of tomato juice from my grandparents which was used in this recipe, though not as much as the can was. We doubled for the family, nothing was left over."
Juicy is the perfect title! This recipe turned out perfectly for both well done (7 minutes each side) and med (5 minutes each side) flavorful juicy and filling ,yet light and fluffy this is my new favorite burger recipe.
I have recently moved to S W France from the UK and the burgers here are awful. I have never made burgers before as we had a great butcher in the UK who made a delicious selection of them.I found the Juicy Grilled Burger recipe on line and tried them out last night they were delicious and easy to make. All my guests loved them and I will definately be using the recipe again and searching for some more recipies on this web site.

When I make burgers now I get rave reviews.I will never buy store bought burgers again. This is the recipe for me!
