Ingredients
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tsp whole allspice
- 2 tsp whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 inches long
- 2 oranges, studded with cloves
Preparation
Step 1
Heat all ingredients except oranges to boiling in Dutch oven; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Strain punch. Pour into small heatproof punch bowl. Float oranges in bowl. Serve hot.
Notes: For crockpot, pour heated cider into pot and set on low.
For punch bowl, make safer for hot beverage by filling with hot water and letting stand for 30 minutes. Pour out water and slowly pour in hot cider.
