Jack's 3 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream - Yum!

I've made this ice cream many times and it is so easy and delicious - the egg makes it very rich and creamy! Serve on desserts that cry out for a scoop of vanilla!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix first 3 ingredients well, until sugar is totally dissolved. Beat in the egg well.Add the vanilla extract.


2. Let "age" overnight in fridge - be sure to keep it covered as ice cream picks up odors from other foods.

3. Process in pre-chilled electric ice cream maker. Place in plastic container in the freezer at least four hours to firm up.


Makes 3 cups, obviously, of very nice, rich vanilla ice cream which is perfect to serve with desserts or to add other ingredients, like chocolate chips, fruit, candy and nuts.
