  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 cups dry red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Heinz 57 sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried sage



Step 1

To make the glaze, add olive oil and onion to its 1/2 quarts saucepan. Place the source over medium low heat and cook until the onions becomes translucent, about 10 min. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add all the remaining ingredients and bring to a low boil, cover and decrease the heat to a simmer. Allow the police to simmer for 20 min. Then remove the lid turn the heat to high and boil the glaze until only 3 cups remain. Transfer the glaze to a ball and allowed to cool to room temperature.
