HOISIN BEEF

  • SAUCE:
  • 1 lb. beef steak, cubed to 1"
  • 1/4 cup brocolli flowerets
  • 1/4 cu baby corn
  • 1 green onion, cut to 1" lengths
  • 1/2 tsp minced ginger
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsps dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tbsp tapioca starch

Preparation

Step 1

1. Marinate beef cubeswith 1 tbsp tapioca starch, 3 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp cooking wine and drops of sesame seed oil.

2. Heat up 2 cup oil, deep fry beef cubes until color changes to brown, remove and drain oil.

3. Heat wok, brown green onion, garlic and ginger: Stir fry vegetables; return meat to wok. Add sauce and bring to a boil. Serve hot.
