Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 c warm water
- 2 tsp sugsr
- 4 c luke warm water
- 1 c white sugar
- 1 c vegetable oil,preferably Canola
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 egg beaten
- 12 -14 c flour(all purpose or bread-it could be a combination of white,whole wheat,multi-grain,etc
Preparation
Step 1
About 6 PM
dissolve yeast in sugar water and let sit 10 min.
Mix water,sugar,oil,salt and egg.
Add to yeast mixture.
Add 4 c flour to yeast mixture and beat at low speed until flour is incorporated.
Keep adding flour 1 c at a time until batter pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Continue kneading the dough on the bread board for 10 min until dough is shiny and elastic in appearance.
Cover and let rise 2 hrs.
Punch down and cover.
Let rise 1 1/2 hrs.
Shape the buns-parchment paper lined baking sets works well.
Cover with oiled wax paper and allow to rise overnight.
Bake at 375 for 15-20 min or until golden brown.
Baking buns early in the morning is a wonderful way to start a day!
