Mounds Cake

This is an incredible cake. I got this recipe from my neighbor who made this at our last block party. She made 4 of these and there was not a crumb left in sight. Everyone went ga-ga over this one. Enjoy.

Ingredients

• 1 box triple chocolate fudge cake mix
• 14 oz coconut, flaked
• 16 regular marshmallows
• 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
• 1 cup white Sugar
• 4 squares unsweeted chocolate
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/3 cup water
• 1 dash Salt
• 1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

Bake cake as directed on box. Cool. Cut each layer in half. Mix milk, sugar and marshmallows; melt. Stir until sugar is dissolved and marchmallows have melted. Remove from heat and stir in coconut. Put this mixture between all the layers and on top.

Make icing:
Melt chocolate with the brown sugar; add salt, water, and butter. Simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla; mix well. Put chocolate icing on top and sides of cake.
