Donvier - Caramel Ice Cream.

We thought we would publish these recipes for those of you that still have your Donvier Ice Cream Maker but lost the recipe book. We don't have ours anymore, but we happened to come across the recipe book the other day. Hope it's useful to some of you!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Heat sugar slowly in a skillet until melted and light brown, stirring constantly.
In a saucepan, cald milk and pour into sugar. Cook to dissolve sugar.
In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and add hot milk and sugar mixture (very slowly), stirring constantly. Cook slowly until thickened. Cool.
Add cream and vanilla. Stir. Refrigerate base overnight, covered to "age."
Freeze in Donvier Ice Cream Maker. Serve immediately or freeze overnight for added firmness. Makes 1 pint.
