HOT AND SOUR SOUP

  • SEASONING:
  • 4 oz. lean pork, shredded
  • 1/4 cup tofu (bean curd) shredded
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 chinese dried mushrooms, soaked and shredded
  • 2 tbsp carrot, shredded
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsps ham, cooked and shredded
  • 2 tbsps bamboo shoots, shredded
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsps vinegar
  • dash pepper
  • drops sesame seed oil
  • drops chili sauce or tabasco
  • 3 tbsps tapioca starch diluted in 1/3 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Marinate shredded pork with 1 tsp. tapioca starch, and 1 tbsp light soy sauce for 15 minutes.

2. Bring 4 cup water to boil in wok. Add all ingredients (except tofu, green onion and egg) and cook for 5 minutes.

3. Add seasoning and tofu. Thicken soup with tapioca starch, stir in beaten egg. Sprinkle with green onions and serve.
