Breakfast: Breakfast Pie

This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law who is a wonderful cook. You can substitute sausage for other ingredients but be conscientious of watery vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices french bread (crust off)
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 3 1/2 cups half and half
  • salt and pepper
  • summer savory
  • dash of worcestershire sauce
  • dash of hot sauce
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • cooked sausage

Preparation

Step 1

Butter bread slices and cut into cubes. Layer ingredients into 2 8" or 9" pie plates. Layer 1/4 of bread then grated cheese then sausage, repeat. Mix eggs, half and half and all seasonings. Pour into pie plates. REgrigerate overnight.

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
