Old-Time Tuna Bake

Tuna Casserole I Used To Make Years Ago when we lived in Swansea....

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen sweet peas
  • 1 can condensed cream of celery soup -- (10 3/4 oz.)
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or milk
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 small can of button mushrooms
  • 2 cans tuna in water (6 oz. each) -- drained, flaked
  • 1 can French fried onions (2 .8 oz.)

Preparation

Step 1

Cook noodles as directed on package, adding peas during last minute of cooking time; drain.

Meanwhile, heat oven to 350°F. In ungreased 2-quart casserole, mix soup, milk, instant minced onion and salt.

Stir in half of the French Fried onions and tuna and drained mushrooms into soup mixture; cover. Bake 30 minutes.

Remove from oven. Uncover; stir mixture well. Sprinkle with remaining French fried onions. Return to oven; bake uncovered about 5 minutes longer or until onions are golden brown.
