Ingredients
- 2 lbs. round steak, sliced into 1/2" strips
- 2 Tb. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed and divided
- 2 green peppers, cut into thin strips
- 2 onions, coarsely chopped
- 8-oz. pkg. sliced mushrooms
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 3/4 c. red wine or beef broth
- 1/4 tsp. to 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- chicken broth, as needed
Preparation
Step 1
In a skillet over medium heat, brown steak strips with oil and half the garlic. Add peppers and onions; cook ntil tender. Stir in mushrooms, salt, pepper, and remaining garlic. Stir in wine or beef broth. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes. Sprinkle with curry powder and conintue simmering one hour. Add chicken broth as need to prevent sticking and overbrowning. Serves 6-8.
