Grandma Ruth's Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1 + cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 t baking powder
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3 ripe bananas

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter and sugar; beat in eggs and sour cream; add baking soda, flour, and baking powder; beat well--scrape bowl as needed; add vanilla and bananas; mix until all ingredients are incorporated uniformly.

Line bottom of 9-inch cake pans with baking parchment. Butter and flour sides of pans. Fill pans 2/3 full (or 1/2 batter in each pan).

Bake in preheated over at 350 for 45 minutes, let stand in cake pan on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing from pan for complete cooling
