CRISPY OATMEAL COOKIES

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Quick Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Soft Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Boiling Water
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts, chopped (Optional)
  • Sugar For Tops Of Cookies

Preparation

Step 1

Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, butter, and salt into large mixing bowl. Blend until butter is thoroughly worked into mixture.

Stir together water and baking soda. Stir soda mixture into oat mixture. Add nuts, if using, blending well.

Shape into balls the size of walnuts or smaller if dainty tea-type cookies are desired. Flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in water, then into sugar.

Bake at 375F for 8 minutes or until golden and crispy. Cool on wire racks
