Buttermilk Biscuits*****

With fried chicken, these are just perfect.

Ingredients

  • 4 T crisco
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 T butter melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 375*
1-Wisk together dry ingredients
2-Cut crisco into flour with a pastry
blender
3-Use a fork to stir in the buttermilk to make a soft dough
4-Continue stirring until all the flour is mixed in
5-Pour dough out onto floured surface and knead until smooth, only 3-4 times, don't overwork
6-Roll out to a thickness of about 3/4 of an inch
7-Cut with biscuit cutter
8-Bake on baking stone for 10-12 min
9-Brush with melted butter two minutes before biscuits are finished baking
