Ingredients
- Sauce
- 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
- 6 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 1 pound cans tomatoes
- 4 6-oz cans tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 3 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 tsp crushed oregano
- Meat Balls
- 8 slices dry bread
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup grated romano cheese
- 4 Tbsp chopped parsley
- 2 cloves gartlic, minced
- 2 tsp crushed oregano
- 2 tsp salt
Preparation
Step 1
Cooked chopped onion in hot oil untill tender. Add next seven ingredients and 2 cups of water.
Simmer 30 minutes; remove bay leaves
Soak bread in water 2 or 3 minutes; squeeze out moisture. Mix bread with remaining ingredients. Shape in about 40 balls. Brown in hot oli,. Add to sauce, cook 30 minutes. Serve over spaghetti. Serves 12.
