Whole-Grain Clusters with pepitas & flax seed

Ingredients

  • 1.5 c. old-fashioned oats
  • 1 c. whole-grain flaked wheat cereal (i.e. Total)
  • 1/3 c. unsalted pepitas
  • 1/4 c. unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 c. wheat germ
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1 T. flax seed
  • kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 275. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix oats, cereal, pepitas, sunflower seeds and wheat germ in a bowl.

Heat honey and flax seed in small saucepan over medium. Pour honey mixture over the cereal mixture; stir quickly to coat. Spread mixture in even layer on parchment paper, pressing clumps together.

Bake until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Remove and sprinkle with kosher salt; cool 15 minutes. Once cooled, break into small sclusters. Store in airtight container for up to 4 weeks.
