Springtime Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thin spaghetti
  • 1/2 c olive oil
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 c fresh basil leaves
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Set 6 qts of water to boil in a large pot with 2 tablespoons salt. Add spaghetti to cook. Combine oil and tomatoes. Mash the salt with garlic and add to the oil-tomato mixture. Tear the basil leaves into confetti-sized bits and add along with the pepper. Add cooked spaghetti. Serves 4 to 6.
