Ingredients
- Dough:
- 5 sticks oleo
- 4 cups instant flour (gold medal wondra)
- 2 T. sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 slightly beaten egg youlks
- 1 1/4 cup water
- Filling:
- 4 t instant flour
- 1 cup crisco
- 6 t marshmallow cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. van.
Preparation
Step 1
Mix dry ingredients. add 1 stick oleo and cut into dry ingredients add water and egg yolks (I mix egg yolks an dwater together first) refrigerate 1 hr. Flour board (wondra) roll out dough spread dough with 1 stick oleo fold in half and refrigerate 1 hr. repeat this step until all oleo is gone. teka 1/4 of dough at a time from refrig. and roll fairly thin (about 15 x 10 inches) Cut into 1 inch strips then cut strips 4 to 5 inches long. Start at open end of clothes pin and wrap thightly around. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 min. Do not remove cloths pins from cookies until cookies are cool. They will slide off.
Filling:
Cook flour and milk until thick set aside to cool Beat until fluffy the crisco and powedered sugar. Add to cooled flour mixture. Beat again. Add six T. marshmallow creamand 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until smooth and fill inside of each cookie. IO use my cake decorating bag and tip. The filling is just barely enough.
If clothes pins are reused yearly, be sure to wash on day of use with very hop soapy water of cookies may be bitter.
