Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 5 oz. all-purpose white flour
- 4-6 cups cooking apples (1 1/2 to 2 pounds) peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsps lemon juice
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp lemon rind, grated
Preparation
Step 1
Combine ½ cup of sugar and 1 oz. of flour in mixing bowl. Squeeze lemon juice over apple slices. Toss apples with sugar mixture. Put in oven-proof baking dish.
Thoroughly mix butter, remaining flour and cinnamon. Add lemon rind and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until top is golden.
Serve warm solo or with ice cream.
