Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups mango, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, raisins, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and onion. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add mango and water and simmer until thick, stirring often. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice. Will keep for up to one week when refrigerated. Can substitute chopped apples, pears, plums or pineapples for mangos.
