Broiled Mushrooms

  • 18 large mushroom caps (save stems for another use)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
  • 6 slices bread crusts removed, sauteed golden brown in butter


Servings 6


Step 1

Brush both sides of mushroom caps with melted butter and arrange them rounded-side down in a large baking dish. Place them under a medium broiler flame for 4 minutes, turn them over, and broil for another 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Pace 3 mushrooms on each of the browned slices of bread on a hot serving platter.

This recipe yields 6 servings.
