Brownies from a Cake mix

Ingredients

• 1 egg
• 3/4 cups water, plus more as needed
• 1/2 cup chopped pecan (optional)
• 1 (18.25 oz. ) box devil's food cake mix

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray with cooking spray a 13x9 inch pan. Mix the egg, water and nuts in a large bowl, then add the dry cake mix (nothing else;) stir well. If the batter needs more water, add a teaspoonful at a time. Don't add too much, because the batter should be thick. Don't over mix. Pour into the pan, making sure to smooth the top evenly. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes for chewy Brownies. If you like them a little drier, bake a few minutes longer.
