Asiago Crusted Pork Chops
By Addie
Asiago cheese—a popular Italian cow's milk cheese—and crunchy breadcrumbs form a delicate crust on these fork-tender pork chops. Accompany with Broccoli with Sour Cream Sauce for a hearty meal that can be on the table in less than 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 4 (4-ounce) boneless center-cut loin pork chops
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup Panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
- 1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated Asiago cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 lemon wedges
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
Preparation
Step 1
Place pork between 2 sheets of plastic wrap; pound to an even thickness (about 1/4 inch) using a meat mallet or a small heavy skillet.
Place egg white in a shallow dish. Combine panko, cheese, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Dip pork in egg white; dredge in panko mixture, pressing gently with fingers to coat.
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add pork; cook 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Squeeze 1 lemon wedge over each pork chop; sprinkle each evenly with thyme.

REVIEWS:
These turned out really well. I accidentally left off the lemon and thyme but they were still good. I concur with another reviewer that it took longer to cook them than the recipe recommended. I'm guessing it is because I didn't pound them thin enough. I had leftovers and heated those up in the toaster oven and they were just as good and kept their crispiness.
All five of my children adore these pork chops just as much as my husband does and request it frequently. It's a quick and easy but very tasty meal to make. Because I double the recipe so I can feed eight, I put that first batch in the oven to keep warm while I fry up the second and they keep wonderfully well for the few minutes it takes.
Fast, easy and incredibly flavorful. I made the recipe exactly as written and I will make it again and again.
I've been waiting to try this recipe for a while; just one of those that fall to the wayside, however they were WONDERFUL! My only complaint is that they end up a little too thin and thus just a tad overcooked given the time it takes to form a nice brown crust. Will definitely make again and again, just with a bit thicker chops! Such a fast and delicious weeknight meal! Served with the broccoli with sour cream sauce as suggested for a well rounded meal.
Good. Took longer than 3-4 minutes per side, but I expected that. I also made the broccoli with sour cream sauce but I was not a fan of the sauce. Served with whole wheat bread. Will make again.
If you are looking for a quick easy meal! Then this is the recipe for you. I am not a huge pork-chop fan and I loved these, and all of my guest enjoyed these as well! I will be making these again :)
This recipe is very easy and quick, perfect for making something decent with little time. I made it w/ chicken instead of pork and it was delicious. Served w/ steamed Broccoli and rice pilaf. Would definitely make this again and again.
My boyfriend and I could not stop saying how amazing these pork chops are! I made the recipe as written, and it was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and so flavorful! It's important to pound the chops to 1/4" thick so they cook through without burning the crust. Depending on your sides, you could easily have dinner on the table in 15 minutes with this one; great for a busy weeknight! I served this with spinach sauteed with garlic, and some whole wheat pasta with a roasted red pepper sauce.
These were delish! I didn't pound my chops thin so I knew it would take longer to cook so after 4 mins on each side I popped them in the over on 350 for about 10 mins. They came out perfect. Crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. I really think the lemon takes this dish to another level! Do not leave it out! I served this with buttered and seasoned whole egg noodles and lemon pepper steamed broccoli.
New family favorite! Although I did use Tony's Chachere's seasoning instead of salt and pepper : ) My husband said we need to cook pork chops like this from now on.
So good. My daughter LOVED it. She said it was one of the best things she has eaten.
This was DELICIOUS!!!! Best and easiest way to cook pork chops! I used ADOBO GOYA seasoning instead of salt & pepper. Plus I think my Panko crumbs were seasoned. Ate with side of rice with sauteed vegetables (corn, zuchinni, green/red peppers).
