Orange Buttercream Frosting

  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cups butter
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3 to 4 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tsp grated orange peel

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, mix powdered sugar and butter with spoon or electric mixer on low speed. Stir in vanilla and 3 tbsp of the orange juice. Stir in grated orange peel.

Gradually beat in just enough remaining orange juice to make frosting smooth and spreadable If frosting is too thick, beat in more orange juice, a few drops at a time. If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar.

Makes about 3 1/2 cups
Generously frosts 24 cupcakes
