Ingredients
- 24 ounces all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 pound butter, at room temperature
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar together in bowl of electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Add eggs and vanilla together in container. With mixer on low speed, pour out container one egg at time until incorporated. Scrape bowl with rubber spatula.
Add dry ingredients to mixture, about 1/4 at a time, scraping bowl after each addition. Pour dough on sheet of plastic wrap. Wrap and chill dough in refrigerator for about an hour, or until firm.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut dough with cookie cutters of your choice. Cover cookie sheet with parchment paper, and place cookies on sheet. Bake cookies for about 10-12 minutes, until edges of cookies are golden brown. Let cookies cool completely before decorating.
